FCM Sustainability Trade Show brings leading sustainable products and services to 500 municipal participants
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Raymond Louie, FCM’s second vice-president, chair of the Green Municipal Fund Council and Councillor for the City of Vancouver, today officially opened FCM’s 2014 Sustainable Communities Trade Show (SCC) in Charlottetown, PE. This unique national event will connect some 35 exhibitors of products and services with approximately 450 participants from municipalities across the country.
“I am proud to officially open this trade show that brings exhibitors and municipal decision-makers together for the first time in Atlantic Canada,” said Louie. “Our corporate partners and conference sponsors help ensure that local governments have access to the products and services that help us to fulfill our sustainability goals and complete our environmental projects.
Joining Mr. Louie were representatives from FCM’s corporate partners, including: the Cement Association of Canada, Data on the Spot, Fer-Pal, the Insurance Bureau of Canada, NAPA Auto Parts and the Royal Bank of Canada. Corporate conference sponsors CN and SALT also joined Mr. Louie for the official opening.
The trade show is part of FCM’s Sustainable Communities Conference which will see approximately 450 participants from across Canada converge on Charlottetown as it celebrates the 150th anniversary of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference, the cornerstone to Confederation. The conference is a knowledge-sharing, training and networking opportunity for elected and non-elected municipal officials and their partners from the public and private sectors who are interested in making their communities more sustainable.
The Trade Show runs today and February 13, all day.
